Aircraft makes emergency touchdown in Newark after suicide vest scare

A JetBlue airplane at Newark Airport was evacuated Saturday morning after a photograph of a suicide vest was seen or somebody sporting one was photographed by a passenger, NBC reported.

The airplane had been about to take off for Tampa round 7:20 a.m. when two flight attendants obtained the photograph on their Apple units.

The airplane returned to the gate and its passengers walked down the steps and onto the tarmac.

“Out of an abundance of warning,” the airplane was moved to distant space and passengers had been deplaned and bused to the terminal, a Port Authority spokesman mentioned. He mentioned the passengers and baggage had been rescreened.

It left Newark at 11:27 a.m. after it was completely searched, JetBlue mentioned
