Energy outages hit components of Manhattan sending subway stations, shops into darkness

Energy outages have been reported throughout Occasions Sq., Higher West Facet and components of midtown early Saturday night, sending practice stations, film theaters and malls into darkness.

The MTA confirmed that energy was out contained in the 59th Avenue – Columbus Circle subway station shortly after 6:45 p.m.

“There’s an influence outage on the subway station on 59th, anybody else having this downside? #MTA,” tweeted consumer Elizabeth Brennan, together with an image.

Straphangers stated the seventh Avenue station too was pitch black.

Twitter consumer @SouthPawSweet posted {a photograph} of Occasions Sq., which confirmed the lights that normally lined the Crossroads of the World Sq. had gone out.

This can be a growing story.
